Kiren Rijiju Gives Rahul Gandhi 7 Tips to Boost Congress Seats, Targets Him Over Politics
Kiren Rijiju has offered Rahul Gandhi seven suggestions to help Congress win more seats, targeting his foreign visits, political approach, parliamentary conduct and family-based politics amid a growing BJP-Congress war of words.
In a post on Wednesday, Rijiju listed seven steps Rahul Gandhi should take to improve the Congress party's electoral performance. His remarks come amid an ongoing war of words between leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the opposition Congress over the past few days.
In his post on his official X account, the Union Minister said that if Rahul Gandhi followed his suggestions, the Congress party could win more parliamentary seats. His advice covered Rahul Gandhi's foreign visits, conduct towards senior leaders, political approach, participation in parliamentary proceedings, respect for constitutional institutions and the party's internal functioning.
Rijiju first advised Rahul Gandhi to spend more time in India and avoid frequent, quiet trips abroad. He also asked him to respect senior leaders and learn valuable lessons from them, referring to this as part of Indian tradition.
The third suggestion was that Rahul Gandhi should avoid meeting people who are against India and stop promoting their agenda. Rijiju further advised him to give up what he described as deep hatred towards the BJP, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said the BJP should be treated as a political opponent rather than an enemy.
The Parliamentary Affairs Minister also urged Rahul Gandhi to take Parliament more seriously and allow MPs to participate in debates and discussions. He asked him to respect the Constitution of India and uphold the country's constitutional institutions.
In his seventh suggestion, Rijiju called on Rahul Gandhi to allow the Congress party to function as a democratic organisation and end family-based politics. He said implementing these changes could help the party increase its parliamentary representation.
Rijiju's remarks come as Rahul Gandhi has been targeting the Central Government and the Election Commission over the past several days. Recently, the Congress leader also challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to a debate, following which BJP leaders stepped up their criticism of him.
Reacting to Rahul Gandhi's challenge, Rijiju said Parliament is a place for debate and discussion. However, he questioned the opposition leader's commitment to democratic discussions, alleging that those who do not believe in democracy, debate and discussion are now talking about holding debates.
Congress Party can win more MPs if Rahul Gandhi ji can do these: 1. Spend more time in India and avoid secret foreign vacations frequently. 2. Respect seniors and gain valuable wisdom from the elders, which is Indian tradition. 3. Do not meet Anti-India people and stop promoting their agenda. 4. End deep hatred against BJP, RSS & Modi Ji. Treat BJP as political opponent, not enemy. 5. Take Parliament more seriously and let MPs take part in debates & discussion. 6. Respect Constitution of India, and honour Constitutional Institutions. 7. Allow Congress party to function as a democratic party and smash dynastic politics.

Drawing comparisons, Rijiju said this was like Islamic fundamentalists talking about secularism, separatists holding the Indian flag, or anarchists displaying a copy of the Constitution.
He further alleged that promoting the agenda of India's enemies and then accusing others of receiving foreign support amounted to making a mockery of oneself. Rijiju added that debates at the highest level should take place between sensible and mature people.
The exchange highlights the continuing political confrontation between the BJP and Congress, with Rahul Gandhi's criticism of the government and Rijiju's latest remarks adding to the ongoing debate over parliamentary conduct, political accountability and the Congress party's leadership.
